Social Media Trends to Keep Up With in 2023.
What are your predictions for 2023’s social media trends? We’re one step ahead of you. Today we’re giving you our social media forecast trends for 2023! Let’s get into it. ⬇️
Short-form videos will continue to dominate
We’ve got short attention spans around here! The data has spoken, 85% of marketers say that short-form video is most effective on social media. (source) Stats are showing us that short-form video is valued more among users. It’s fast, effective, short and sweet and gets the message across nicely. Any videos under 60 seconds are considered to be short-form - ranging between 30 to 60 seconds. With the rise of TikTok and Reels since 2020 - we’ve seen video content becoming shorter and shorter. In fact, 60% of all videos published on the internet in 2020 were under 2 minutes long! 🤯 (source) Users don’t want to spend over 10 minutes watching a video anymore - it’s basically ruled out. Unless it's a YouTube video of course; people expect to watch longer content on YouTube.
TikTok - yip, it's still growing 🤷♀️
If you’re humming and haring about whether you should use TikTok or not - we think you should bite the bullet and just do it! We don’t sense a fall in TikTok users this year. Unsure what to post? We’ve got you. ⬇️
TikTok/Reels Video Ideas:
Behind-the-brand videos make users feel more connected to brands.
This could include a day in the life of a CEO or employee.
Something that gives your followers a better insight into what life is like at your workplace.
Sneak peeks 👀
Share new products or services with your followers.
How-to videos about a new feature.
An inside scoop that feels illegal to know - something that could help make their life easier.
Shoppers will expect to buy your products directly through social media.
If we’ve gathered anything from this blog already, it should be that people have short attention spans; for lack of a better word, they can be a little… lazy. 🤷♀️ Users don’t want to have to look for things, they want products to come to them. People are turning to social media for shopping. So, in order to generate more sales and retain customers; it’s up to business owners to make their products as accessible as possible. Setting up Instagram and Facebook shop is a must for retailers in 2023!
Influencer marketing will continue to soar
If you’ve got the budget to invest in an influencer - you should most definitely consider it! Influencer marketing works to put your brand in front of a new audience. While helping to build trust for your brand. People have influencers that they follow on the daily. They value their opinions and really listen to what they say about products and services. In fact, according to our friends at Hubspot - searches for influencer marketing have grown by 1500% in the past four years! How wild is that! Micro-influencers could help to get your brand out there if you are working with a slimmer budget.
