Instagram Hacks to Help Boost Your Engagement.

Ahhh Instagram. The algorithms are changing…yet, again. You may notice that your posts aren’t performing as well as they used to – and you’re not the only one.

The “make Instagram great again” community is in full force.

People are speaking up, is Instagram the new TikTok? Reels and videos are taking over, you may find that your static images aren’t performing as well as they once were. If your engagement has recently dropped off, this is for you. Here are our favourite hacks to help boost your Instagram engagement.

Hack 1: Adjust your favourites feed.

Did you know you can jump to your Instagram favourites feed to further boost your engagement?

Simply  head over to your favourite feed and add your:

➡️ Top 20 most engaged customers

➡️ Top 15 accounts you admire

➡️ Top 15 accounts in your niche

Engage with these accounts daily. Like, comment, and even share their posts. This will help to make your customers feel seen, and you’ll be reaching out within your niche.  This will ensure that you increase your overall brand engagement – as you begin building meaningful industry/customer relationships. ✅

Hack 2: Use stories to create impact.

Are utilising stories on your business's Instagram account?  Stories are a great place to engage with your audience – this is where you can connect with people on a deeper level, but that’s not all.

“With top-of-the-feed placement, links, and interactive stickers, Instagram Stories are a prime channel for brands to drive awareness, traffic, sales, and engagement.”

(Hootesuite, 2021).

Use the story ‘polls’ feature to get information out of your audience. You can ask them what they want to see more of, find out what they’re interested in and even WHY they follow you.

 💥 Ask questions,

💥 Play a game of ‘This or That’

💥 Find out what makes your audience tick ✅

Show that you’re an expert in your field that your audience can turn to for advice. This is how you will gain followers who trust you and look forward to reading your weekly posts. Jazz your stories up with eye-catching, colourful stickers. Don’t be afraid to get creative, this will be what will set you apart.

To check your story insights and see how things have been performing 👉 Simply click the 3 lines on the right-hand side of your profile and click ‘Archive’ then ‘Stories Archive’ this is where you can analyse how your stories have been performing. 📈

Hack 3: Reply to comments and messages as fast as you can.

This is a non-negotiable for us here at Daily Digital, and for others too. In fact, 40% of consumers expect brands to respond within an hour of reaching out via social media channels. (Dopson, 2021). Fast responses show your audience that you care and that you’re listening to them. If you want to retain and increase your follower count – keep tabs on those notifications.

Hack 4: Post content that gives your audience value.

By this we mean – post content that your audience actually wants to see. By answering burning questions and providing valuable advice – you set yourself apart from your competitors who are keeping quiet and providing…well, nothing.

⭐️ Share free tips and tricks.

⭐️ Bust an industry myth.

⭐️ Be educational.

⭐️ Share your opinion on controversial topics.

⭐️ Post content that people are going to thank you for!

By sharing free and helpful information - you’re adding value to your audience.

Hack 5: Use strategic hashtags.

Are you using hashtags? #youshouldbe – on every post. ✅ Select keywords that are related to your content. Be strategic about it. By doing this you’re able to reach new people who are searching for your content! This will help you to attract customers who align with your business.
